Commons Clinic

Commons Clinic is rebuilding specialty care outside the hospital. Founded in 2021 in Los Angeles by Nick Aubin and Paulo da Costa, it operates physician-led clinics and ambulatory surgery centers across orthopedics, spine, and pain, and has extended into cardiovascular, metabolic, and women’s health through its Wholebody program.

Underneath the clinics is Theater, a full-stack software platform for ambulatory surgery centers. It standardizes and automates treatment pathways across facilities, which is what lets complex procedures migrate out of hospitals safely and at volume.

Most companies either build the software or deliver the care. Commons does both, and each one is what makes the other work.
