Welcoming Dr. Mikael Dolsten to the Averin Advisory Board
We are excited to announce that Dr. Mikael Dolsten has joined Averin Capital as an advisor. A physician-scientist and biotechnology leader with more than 35 years at the forefront of biomedical innovation, Mikael brings extraordinary scientific depth and strategic experience to our work at the intersection of life sciences and AI.
Mikael Dolsten, MD, PhD
Mikael most recently served as Chief Scientific Officer and President of Worldwide Research, Development and Medical at Pfizer, where he spent 16 years leading one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical R&D organizations. During his tenure, he contributed to more than 35 drug approvals and advanced more than 150 drug candidates into clinical studies, including Comirnaty and Paxlovid, among the highest-grossing therapeutics of all time. Prior to Pfizer, he held senior leadership roles at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Boehringer Ingelheim, AstraZeneca, and Pharmacia. He has authored more than 150 scientific publications, is an elected member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, and has advised governments and international organizations on public health, biomedical innovation, and pandemic preparedness.
Mikael joins an advisory board that includes David Shulkin (former U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs), Roland Diggelmann (former CEO, Roche Diagnostics), Steve Bolze (former CEO, GE Healthcare), and Ulrik Schulze (former Global Head of Biopharma, BCG), among others.
