Averin Capital builds companies. We start with the thesis, develop the science or technology, and construct the founding team. The Averin Fellowship puts high-potential students directly in that process.

About the program
Fellows are embedded in company creation work at the firm. They run discovery, test whether the opportunity holds up, and write the materials that move a new company forward.
Each Fellow works with a dedicated partner sponsor and presents their findings to the full team at the end. The strongest Fellows are considered for roles at Averin or at the companies they helped build.
What you’ll do
Fellows own real work from the first day.

Talk with domain experts, clinicians, and operators to test the thesis.

Map the competitive landscape and size the market.
- 03
Work out who should build the company and where to find them.
- 04
Write a company creation research memo and present it to Averin’s partners.
Who we’re looking for
We recruit from MD/MBA, MBA, and PhD programs, and we look at candidates with strong research backgrounds case by case. Domain depth matters, but so does how you think.
You know the science, the clinic, or the technology well enough to have a point of view, and you think like a builder.
Don’t stop at an interesting idea. Ask who should build it and what it would take to make this a generational company.
You should be comfortable talking with domain experts, laying out a complicated argument clearly, and making progress when the answer isn’t obvious. You don’t need any venture capital experience.
